American Red Cross Lifeguarding Manual by American National Red CrossI just became a lifeguard for Seven Peaks, in Salt Lake. This book helped me so much. If it wasnt for this book I wouldnt have a job this summer. Its a good book, really descriptive and has some cool pictors too. So if you ever want a job as a lifeguard or just want to know something cool get this book, its awesome. :)
The chapter on First Aid is probably one of my favorite parts. It was pretty exact with how it told you how to do everything. Like how to tell if someones having shock or severe hypothermia or even sunstroke and how to treat them. It showed how to treat cuts, burns, breaks, sprans and shock. I hope I will never have to do any of that, but Ill be ready just in case.
Even though Im a hands on learner, this book still helped alot. It walks you through everthing. Its not just this is this, do this do that, it tells you in great detail how to do it, Being able to pracitce hands on after reading the book really helped as well.
