Episode SPECIAL: All Or Nothing

Credit: Channel Seven. The standalone Home and Away specials keep coming, and this one is really quite good — especially when you compare it with last month's awful Home and Away: Revenge. All-round supervillain Trevor "Gunno" Gunson Diarmid Heidenreich is back in prison, where he rules the roost and relishes the opportunity to inflict a world of hurt on young Kyle Braxton Nic Westaway. He starts a riot, effortlessly takes over the whole prison and begins hunting the Braxtons. It's as preposterous as all get-out, but Heidenreich is great fun, and director Arnie Custo and director of photography Bob Miller use the prison location to great effect in some very menacing and kinetic scenes. Benjamin Hoetjes and Peter Callan provide good colour and texture in supporting roles that, if anything, should have been a bit bigger. And just when you're starting to think that it's all getting a good deal better than it has any right to be, the terrific score by composer Michael Yezerski comes in and starts classing the joint up even more.

Well, it's more good news for fans as it looks like Home and Away: All or Nothing is set to be the most violent episode we've seen yet.
